Saturday morning marbles practice at Standing Stone State Park.

Finally, after another Dr.'s visit, blood work, and a prescription for steroids, Reecie is feeling and looking much better. The lab results tested negative for Mono, but they had to send the rest out to another lab, which will not have results back for a couple of weeks. There, they will be testing for some other viruses that she could have potentially had. However, the pediatrician said that by the time these results were back, she should be better with the help of the steroids. Two pediatricians looked at her (and one was old enough that he had seen the measles, mumps, rubella, etc.) and were completely shocked! Not only did it look bad, but was unlike anything they had ever seen. She has been diagnosed with a viral exanthem, very common in infants. Usually they last 1-2 weeks, with improvement each day. Reecie's was not improving at all after a week, and that is why they decided to use steroids to try and rid her body of the infection as well as the rash.
Another point of interest: Jeff has put the time, location, theme, etc. of Reecie's first birthday party on a recent post. Everyone is invited, but we would like RSVP's by no later than Tuesday, Jan. 29th (Reecie's real b-day!). We are going to have a cookout, with a lot a really good food, and some people in the family are making their signature dishes, so I want to be able to clue them in on how much to make. You can either RSVP with on the blog or you can give us a call. We are very excited about it, and hope to make it a very memorable first birthday party for Reecie!!!

Following up on the good news we had this past week: Jeanette is HOME!!!!! She was released on Friday night, and she, Martin, and her mom, Shirley, immediately drove the 16 hour trip to their driveway!! She looks great and is hopefully on her way to recovery! We will post some pictures soon.
Reecie is starting to feel better. Her yeast infection has finally cleared up, but she still has the rash all over her body as an effect of the virus that she had. However, the rash has started drying up and she has been temperature free all day! I am still going to call her pediatrician tomorrow and update him on her progress and to see when he wants me to bring her back.
Tomorrow marks the first day that TTU is back in session (Yay!). The good news is that my A&P lab has been canceled for tomorrow night. Add that to the fact that next Monday is MLK day, and count a Monday for spring break, and that means that I only have 9 more labs left until the end of the semester!!!! This semester will prove to be a challenge with two night classes, an online class, and Anatomy & Physiology, but hey, I'm a smart girl!!!! At least that is what I tell Jeff!!!!!
